因為假基督們和假先知們會出現，行大神蹟和奇事，如果有可能，甚至迷惑那些蒙揀選的人。

不要讓任何人用任何方法把你們欺騙了；因為那日子來臨以前，必定先有離道反教之事來到，並且那不法之人，就是那滅亡之子也會被顯露出來。他反對一切被稱為神的，或受人敬拜的，他又高抬自己在這一切之上，甚至坐在神的聖所裡宣稱自己是神。我還在你們那裡的時候，一直告訴你們這些事，你們不記得嗎？你們也知道，現在什麼攔阻了他，好使他在所定的時候被顯露出來。其實這不法的奧祕已經在做工，只是要等到那現在攔阻他的不在其中，

許多人會隨從他們好色的事；真理之道也會因他們的緣故，受到褻瀆。

人本來算不得什麼；如果自以為是什麼，就是在欺騙自己。

這些人滿腹抱怨，責怪他人，順著自己的欲望生活；他們嘴裡說誇大的話，為了利益諂媚他人。

所以，如果有人對你們說『看哪，基督在曠野裡！』你們不要出去；有人說：『看哪，他在內室裡！』你們也不要相信；

至於那些公認是人物的——無論他們從前什麼樣，都對我沒有區別；神不以外貌取人。那些公認是人物的並沒有給我增添什麼；

在她的額上寫著一個奧祕的名號：「大巴比倫，地上的淫婦們和可憎之物的母親。」
