We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

We are telling people about these things. And so is the Holy Spirit. God has given the Spirit to those who obey him.”

“ When the Counselor comes, the one I will send to you from the Father— the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father— he will testify about me.You also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation had its beginning when it was spoken of by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us by those who heard him.At the same time, God also testified by signs and wonders, various miracles, and distributions of gifts from the Holy Spirit according to his will.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

We ourselves are witnesses of everything he did in both the Judean country and in Jerusalem, and yet they killed him by hanging him on a tree.God raised up this man on the third day and caused him to be seen,not by all the people, but by us whom God appointed as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

and repentance for forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.You are witnesses of these things.

“ God has raised this Jesus; we are all witnesses of this.

and he appeared for many days to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people.

Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came down on all those who heard the message.

For it was the Holy Spirit’s decision— and ours— not to place further burdens on you beyond these requirements:

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth. It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you.When he comes, he will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment:About sin, because they do not believe in me;about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me;and about judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.“ I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak on his own, but he will speak whatever he hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

Peter replied,“ Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Peter and the apostles replied,“ We must obey God rather than people.

He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you. These things have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— angels long to catch a glimpse of these things.

This is the third time I am coming to you. Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
