how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. (niv)

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (niv)

“ We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross,but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen— by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.You are witnesses of these things. (niv)

God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. (niv)

and for many days he was seen by those who had traveled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now his witnesses to our people. (niv)

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (niv)

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. (niv)

It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: (niv)

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:about sin, because people do not believe in me;about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer;and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.“ I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. (niv)

Peter replied,“ Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off— for all whom the Lord our God will call.” (niv)

Peter and the other apostles replied:“ We must obey God rather than human beings! (niv)

By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. (niv)

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things. (niv)

This will be my third visit to you.“ Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.” (niv)
