Then Peter said,“ Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?

Then Peter said,“ Ananias, why did you let Satan fill your heart? He made you lie to the Holy Spirit. You have kept some of the money you received for the land.

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?

Then Peter said,“ Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.

“ Ananias,” Peter asked,“ why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds of the land?

But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the proceeds of the land?

Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think,“ Who sees us? Who will know?” (niv)

Peter said to her,“ How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.” (niv)

Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord.“ Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. (niv)

As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him,“ What you are about to do, do quickly.” (niv)

The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. (niv)

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (niv)

Yet you say,‘ What does God know? Does he judge through such darkness? (niv)

When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. (niv)

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (niv)

When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said. (niv)

If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the Lord your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin. (niv)

The great dragon was hurled down— that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. The tempter came to him and said,“ If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”Jesus answered,“ It is written:‘ Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.“ If you are the Son of God,” he said,“ throw yourself down. Ephraim has surrounded me with lies, Israel with deceit. And Judah is unruly against God, even against the faithful Holy One. (niv)

When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. (niv)

Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”To Adam he said,“ Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you,‘ You must not eat from it,’“ Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? (niv)

Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count the Israelites from Beersheba to Dan. Then report back to me so that I may know how many there are.”But Joab replied,“ May the Lord multiply his troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s subjects? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?” (niv)

It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows. (niv)
