But Peter and John replied,“ Which is right from God’s point of view? Should we listen to you? Or should we listen to God? You be the judges!

Then Saul said to Samuel,“ I have sinned. I’ve broken the Lord’ s command. I haven’t done what you directed me to do. I was afraid of the men. So I did what they said I should do.

Their worship doesn’t mean anything to me. They teach nothing but human rules.’( Isaiah 29:13)You have let go of God’s commands. And you are holding on to teachings that people have made up.”Jesus continued speaking,“ You have a fine way of setting aside God’s commands! You do this so you can follow your own teachings.

The Lord God said to Adam,“ You listened to your wife’s suggestion. You ate fruit from the tree I warned you about. I said,‘ You must not eat its fruit.’“ So I am putting a curse on the ground because of what you did. All the days of your life you will have to work hard. It will be painful for you to get food from the ground.

A second angel followed him. He said,“‘ Fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen!’( Isaiah 21:9) The city of Babylon made all the nations drink the strong wine of her terrible sins.”A third angel followed them. He said in a loud voice,“ There will be trouble for anyone who worships the beast and its statue! There will be trouble for anyone who has its mark on their forehead or their hand!They, too, will drink the wine of God’s great anger. His wine has been poured full strength into the cup of his anger. They will be burned with flaming sulfur. The holy angels and the Lamb will see it happen.The smoke of their terrible suffering will rise for ever and ever. Day and night, there will be no rest for anyone who worships the beast and its statue. There will be no rest for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”God’s people need to be very patient. They are the ones who obey God’s commands. And they remain faithful to Jesus.
