The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest.

Now on the next day, wanting to know for certain why Paul had been accused by the Jews, he released him and ordered the chief priests and all the Council to assemble, and he brought Paul down and placed him before them.Now looking intently at the Council, Paul said,“ Brothers, I have lived my life with an entirely good conscience before God up to this day.”

And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and they came up to him and dragged him away, and brought him before the Council.

When they had placed them in the center, they began to inquire,“ By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”
