When daylight came, the elders of the people, both the chief priests and the scribes, convened and brought Him before their Sanhedrin.

The next day, since he wanted to find out exactly why Paul was being accused by the Jews, he released him and instructed the chief priests and all the Sanhedrin to convene. Then he brought Paul down and placed him before them.Paul looked intently at the Sanhedrin and said,“ Brothers, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience until this day.”

They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; so they came, dragged him off, and took him to the Sanhedrin.

After they had Peter and John stand before them, they asked the question:“ By what power or in what name have you done this?”
