對他說，萬軍之耶和華如此說：『看哪，那名稱為大衛苗裔的，要在本處生長，並要建造耶和華的殿。就是他，要建造耶和華的殿，他要承受尊榮，坐在位上掌王權；又有一位祭司坐在自己的位上，兩職之間籌劃和平。

耶穌又說：「我們可用甚麼來比擬上帝的國呢？可用甚麼比喻來說明呢？它像一粒芥菜種，種在地裏的時候，雖比地上所有的種子都小，但種下去以後，它長起來，比各樣的菜都大，又長出大枝，以致天上的飛鳥可以在它的蔭下築巢。」

祭司長和法利賽人召開議會，說：「這人行好些神蹟，我們怎麼辦呢？若讓他這樣做，人人都要信他；羅馬人也要來毀滅我們的聖殿和我們的民族。」

當諸王在位的時候，天上的上帝必另立一個永不敗壞的國度，這國度必不歸給其他百姓，卻要打碎滅絕所有的國度，存立到永遠。你既看見非人手鑿出來的一塊石頭從山而出，打碎鐵、銅、泥、銀、金，那就是至大的上帝把將來要發生的事給王指明。這夢是確實的，這解釋也是準確的。」

他去跟祭司長和守殿官商量怎樣把耶穌交給他們。

說：「我們當怎樣辦這兩個人呢？因為他們誠然行了一件明顯的神蹟，凡住在耶路撒冷的人都知道，我們也不能否認。但為避免這事越發在民間傳揚，我們必須威嚇他們，叫他們不可再奉這名對任何人講論。」

法利賽人彼此說：「你們看，你們一事無成，世人都隨着他去了。」

你正觀看，見有一塊非人手鑿出來的石頭打在它半鐵半泥的腳上，把腳砸碎；於是鐵、泥、銅、銀、金都一同砸得粉碎，如夏天禾場上的糠粃，被風吹散，無處可尋。打碎這像的石頭成了一座大山，覆蓋全地。

耶穌對那些來抓他的祭司長、守殿官和長老說：「你們帶着刀棒出來，如同對付強盜嗎？

官長為百姓的緣故，想不出任何法子懲罰他們，只好威嚇一番就把他們釋放了；這是因眾人為了所行的奇事都歸榮耀與上帝。
