谁会相信我们所传的？耶和华的膀臂向谁显露呢？他在耶和华面前如嫩芽生长起来，像根出于干旱之地；他没有佳形，也没有威仪，好叫我们仰慕他；他也没有美貌，使我们被他吸引。

告诉他说：‘万军之耶和华这样说：看哪！有一个人名叫大卫的苗裔，他必从自己的地方生长起来，并要建造耶和华的殿。他必建造耶和华的殿，必得尊荣；他必坐在宝座上执掌王权，又必在他的宝座上作祭司，使两者之间和谐共济。’”

又说：“我们要把神的国比作什么呢？我们可以用什么比喻来形容它呢？它好像一粒芥菜种，刚种下去的时候，比地上的一切种子都小，种下以后，生长起来，却比一切蔬菜都大，长出大枝子，甚至天空的飞鸟都可以在它的荫下搭窝。”

于是祭司长和法利赛人召开公议会，说：“这个人行了许多神迹，我们怎么办呢？我们若让他这样，所有的人都会信他，罗马人就会来，夺取我们的圣地，除灭我们的民族。”

那些王在位的时候，天上的神必兴起另一个永不灭亡的国，国权必不归给别族的人。这国必砸碎毁灭其他各国；并且这国必存到永远。正如你看见那块从山而出，非人手凿成的石头，把铁、铜、泥、银和金都砸碎了，伟大的神已把日后必有的结局都告诉王了。这梦是确实的，梦的意思也是准确的。”

他去与祭司长和守殿官商量怎样把耶稣交给他们。

：“对这些人我们应该怎么办呢？因为有一件人所共知的神迹，藉着他们行了出来，所有住在耶路撒冷的人都知道，我们也无法否认。为了避免这件事在民间越传越广，我们应该警告他们，不许再奉这名向任何人谈道。”

于是法利赛人彼此说：“你们看，你们都是徒劳无功，世人都去跟随他了！”

你正观看的时候，有一块非人手凿成的石头，击在那座大像铁和泥混杂的脚上，把脚砸碎了。于是铁、泥、铜、银、金都一同砸得粉碎，好像夏天禾场上的糠秕，被风吹散，无处可寻；那打碎这像的石头却变成一座大山，充满全地。

耶稣对那些前来捉拿他的祭司长、守殿官和长老说：“你们带着刀棒出来，把我当作强盗捉拿吗？

众人因着所发生的事，都颂赞神，于是公议会为了群众的缘故，也因为找不到借口惩罚他们，就恐吓一番，把他们放了。
