告訴他，萬軍之耶和華說，『看啊，那被稱為大衛苗裔的要從自己的地方興起，建造耶和華的殿。祂必建造耶和華的殿，帶著王者的尊榮坐在寶座上掌權，寶座上也必坐著祭司，兩者和諧共存。』

耶穌說：「我們拿什麼比作上帝的國呢？用什麼比喻來解釋呢？上帝的國就像一粒芥菜種。它是種子中最小的，但種在地裡，卻能長得比各樣蔬菜都大，有粗大的枝條，可以讓飛鳥在它的樹蔭中築巢。」

祭司長和法利賽人便召開公會會議，說：「這人行了這麼多神蹟，我們該怎麼辦呢？如果讓祂這樣繼續下去，所有的人都會信祂，那時羅馬人一定會來奪取我們的土地，擄掠我們的人民。」

在以上列王統治的時候，天上的上帝必設立一國——永不滅亡、外族無法奪其政權。這國將擊垮、消滅列國，並且永遠長存。你看見那塊非人手從山中鑿出的石頭打碎鐵、銅、泥、銀和金。偉大的上帝已把將來的事告訴了王。這夢是真實的，解釋是可靠的。」

他去見祭司長和聖殿護衛長，商議如何把耶穌出賣給他們，

「我們該怎樣處置這兩個人呢？整個耶路撒冷的居民都知道他們行了一個神蹟，我們無法否認。為了避免這件事傳得更廣，我們必須警告他們以後不許再對任何人傳講耶穌的事。」

法利賽人彼此議論說：「我們真是枉費心思！你看，整個世界都跟著祂跑了。」

在你觀看的時候，有一塊非人手鑿出的石頭打在塑像半鐵半泥的腳上，砸碎了腳。鐵、泥、銅、銀、金隨即粉碎，猶如夏天麥場上的糠秕，被風吹得無影無蹤。但打碎這像的石頭變成一座大山，充滿整個大地。

然後對前來抓祂的祭司長、聖殿護衛長和長老說：「你們像對付強盜一樣拿著刀棍來抓我嗎？

官長實在不知道如何懲治使徒，只好再三恐嚇之後把他們放了，因為百姓都為這個神蹟讚美上帝。
