At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people. When the high priest and his associates arrived, they called together the Sanhedrin— the full assembly of the elders of Israel— and sent to the jail for the apostles.

天一亮，民間的眾長老、祭司長和文士都聚集，把耶穌帶到他們的議會裏，

使他隨意捆綁他的臣宰，將智慧教導他的長老。

他們把使徒帶來了，就叫他們站在議會前。大祭司問他們，

第二天，官長、長老和文士在耶路撒冷聚集，又有亞那大祭司、該亞法、約翰、亞歷山大，和大祭司的親族都在那裏。他們叫使徒站在中間，問他們：「你們憑甚麼能力，奉誰的名做這事呢？」

彼拉多回答：「難道我是猶太人嗎？你的同胞和祭司長把你交給我。你做了甚麼事呢？」

耶穌每日在聖殿裏教導人，每夜出城到橄欖山住宿。眾百姓清早上聖殿，到耶穌那裏聽他講道。

他們歡歡喜喜地離開議會，因他們算配為這名受辱。

於是，大祭司採取行動，他和他所有一起的人，就是撒都該派的人，滿心忌恨，

但是我告訴你們：凡向弟兄動怒的，必須受審判；凡罵弟兄是廢物的，必須受議會的審判；凡罵弟兄是白痴的，必須遭受地獄的火。

因為你要將所看見的、所聽見的，對着萬人作他的見證人。

但有一個法利賽人，名叫迦瑪列，是眾百姓所敬重的律法教師，他在議會中站起來，吩咐人把使徒暫且帶到外面去，

他們聽保羅說的是希伯來話，就更加安靜了。保羅說：「我原是猶太人，生在基利家的大數，但在這城裏長大，在迦瑪列門下按着我們祖宗嚴緊的律法受教，熱心事奉上帝，就如你們大家今日一樣。
