At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people. When the high priest and his associates arrived, they called together the Sanhedrin— the full assembly of the elders of Israel— and sent to the jail for the apostles.

使他随意捆绑他的臣宰，将智慧教导他的长老。

他们把使徒带来了，就叫他们站在议会前。大祭司问他们，

第二天，官长、长老和文士在耶路撒冷聚集，又有亚那大祭司、该亚法、约翰、亚历山大，和大祭司的亲族都在那里。他们叫使徒站在中间，问他们：“你们凭什么能力，奉谁的名做这事呢？”

彼拉多回答：“难道我是犹太人吗？你的同胞和祭司长把你交给我。你做了什么事呢？”

耶稣每日在圣殿里教导人，每夜出城到橄榄山住宿。众百姓清早上圣殿，到耶稣那里听他讲道。

他们欢欢喜喜地离开议会，因他们算配为这名受辱。

于是，大祭司采取行动，他和他所有一起的人，就是撒都该派的人，满心忌恨，

但是我告诉你们：凡向弟兄动怒的，必须受审判；凡骂弟兄是废物的，必须受议会的审判；凡骂弟兄是白痴的，必须遭受地狱的火。

因为你要将所看见的、所听见的，对着万人作他的见证人。

但有一个法利赛人，名叫迦玛列，是众百姓所敬重的律法教师，他在议会中站起来，吩咐人把使徒暂且带到外面去，

他们听保罗说的是希伯来话，就更加安静了。保罗说：“我原是犹太人，生在基利家的大数，但在这城里长大，在迦玛列门下按着我们祖宗严紧的律法受教，热心事奉上帝，就如你们大家今日一样。
