西门彼得回答：“主啊，你有永恒生命的话语，我们还去归从谁呢？

赐人生命的是灵，肉体没有什么用。我对你们说的话就是灵，就是生命。

有关生命之道，是从太初就有的，是我们所听到、所亲眼看到、所观察过、又亲手摸过的——的确，这生命已经显明出来；我们看到了，现在也做见证，并向你们宣扬这永恒的生命；这生命原来与父同在、又向我们显明出来了。我们把所看到、所听到的也向你们宣扬，好使你们也能够与我们相契合；而我们又是与父和他的儿子耶稣基督相契合的。

他有话要对你说，藉这话你和你全家将要得救。’

耶稣进了圣殿，正教导人的时候，祭司长们和民间的长老们前来问他：“你凭什么权柄做这些事？是谁给你这权柄的？”

耶稣回答他：“我一向公开地对世人讲话。我总是在会堂和圣殿，就是所有犹太人聚集的地方教导人。我没有在隐秘中讲过什么。

我知道他的命令就是永恒的生命。所以我所讲的，正是照着父所告诉我的来讲的。”

因为你所赐给我的话语，我已经给了他们。他们领受了，也确实知道我是从你而来的，并且相信是你差派了我。

“你要放开喉咙，不要止住，扬起声音，如同号角！你要向我的子民宣告他们的过犯，向雅各家宣告他们的罪恶。

认识你——独一的真神，并认识你所差派的耶稣基督，这就是永恒的生命。
