大司祭及其同黨均撒杜責教徒、忮心滿懷、

Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy.

The high priest and all his companions were Sadducees. They were very jealous of the apostles.

But the high priest rose up, and all who were with him( that is, the party of the Sadducees), and filled with jealousy

“祖先妒忌约瑟，把他卖到埃及去，然而神与他同在，

但犹太人嫉妒起来，招聚了一些市井流氓，纠合成群，骚动全城，冲进了耶孙的家，搜索保罗和西拉，要把他们交给民众。

犹太人看见这么多人，就满心嫉妒，反驳保罗所讲的，并且毁谤他们。

我看见各样的劳碌和各样精巧的工作，都是出于人与人彼此的竞争。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

列国为什么骚动？万民为什么空谋妄想？世上的君王起来，首领聚在一起，敌对耶和华和他所膏立的，说：“我们来挣断他们给我们的束缚，摆脱他们的绳索！”

扫罗惧怕大卫，因为耶和华与大卫同在，却离开了扫罗。因此扫罗使大卫离开自己，立他作千夫长，大卫就领导众民出入。大卫所行的一切都亨通，因为耶和华与他同在。扫罗看见大卫所行的十分亨通，就怕他。但是所有的以色列人和犹大人都爱大卫，因为他领导他们出入。

他知道他们是因为嫉妒才把耶稣交了来。

于是祭司长和法利赛人召开公议会，说：“这个人行了许多神迹，我们怎么办呢？我们若让他这样，所有的人都会信他，罗马人就会来，夺取我们的圣地，除灭我们的民族。”他们当中有一位该亚法，是那年作大祭司的，对他们说：“你们什么都不知道，

烦恼杀死愚昧人，激情害死愚蒙人。

烈怒虽然凶残，暴怒又好像狂澜，人还可以忍受；但面对嫉妒，谁能站立得住呢？

于是祭司长想把拉撒路也杀掉，

心里平静，可使身体健康；但嫉妒能使骨头朽烂。

地上的君王都起来，首领聚在一起，敌对主和他的受膏者。’

如果你们心中存着刻薄的嫉妒和自私，就不可夸口，也不可说谎抵挡真理。这种智慧不是从天上来的，而是属地的、属血气的和属鬼魔的。因为凡有嫉妒和自私的地方，就必有扰乱和各样的坏事。

于是法利赛人彼此说：“你们看，你们都是徒劳无功，世人都去跟随他了！”

然而有几个法利赛派的信徒站起来，说：“我们必须给外族人行割礼，吩咐他们遵守摩西的律法。”

圣经说：“神爱他那安置在我们里面的灵，爱到嫉妒的地步”（或译：“神安置在我们里面的灵，爱到嫉妒的地步”），你们想这话是徒然的吗？

使徒们正对群众讲话的时候，祭司、圣殿的守卫长，和撒都该人来到他们那里。因为使徒教训群众，并且传扬耶稣从死人中复活，他们就非常恼怒，

所以要除去一切恶毒、一切诡诈、虚伪、嫉妒和一切毁谤的话，

嫉妒、醉酒、荒宴，和类似的事。我从前早就告诉过你们，现在又事先告诉你们：行这些事的人，必定不能承受神的国。

还有大祭司亚那和该亚法、约翰、亚历山大，以及大祭司的家人，所有的人都在那里。

保罗看出其中一部分是撒都该人，另一部分是法利赛人，就在公议会中大声说：“我是法利赛人，也是法利赛人的子孙，我现在受审，是为了盼望死人复活！”他说了这话，法利赛人和撒都该人就起了争论，会众也分裂了，成为两派。原来撒都该人说没有复活，没有天使，也没有鬼灵，法利赛人却认定这些都有。
