But none of the rest dared to associate with them; however, the people held them in high esteem.

No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people.

No outsider dared to join them. But the people thought highly of them.

None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem.

praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

When they had threatened them further, they let them go( finding no basis on which to punish them) on account of the people, because they were all glorifying God for what had happened;

And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,shouting:“ Blessed is the King, the One who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

and yet they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to every word He said.

His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had already reached the decision that if anyone confessed Him to be Christ, he was to be excommunicated from the synagogue.

Now after these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a secret one for fear of the Jews, requested of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body.

For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them.It has happened to them according to the true proverb,“ A dog returns to its own vomit,” and,“ A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”

And as he heard these words, Ananias collapsed and died; and great fear came over all who heard about it.

This became known to all who lived in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks; and fear fell upon them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was being magnified.

“ If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who are watching it will begin to ridicule him,saying,‘ This person began to build, and was not able to finish!’Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strong enough with ten thousand men to face the one coming against him with twenty thousand?Otherwise, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and requests terms of peace.So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.“ Therefore, salt is good; but if even salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned?It is useless either for the soil or the manure pile, so it is thrown out. The one who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

So Samuel did what the Lord told him, and he came to Bethlehem. Then the elders of the city came trembling to meet him and said,“ Do you come in peace?”And he said,“ In peace; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come with me to the sacrifice.” He also consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.

God brings him out of Egypt, He is for him like the horns of the wild ox. He will devour the nations who are his adversaries, And will crush their bones, And smash them with his arrows.He crouches, he lies down like a lion, And like a lioness, who dares to rouse him? Blessed is everyone who blesses you, And cursed is everyone who curses you.”Then Balak’s anger burned against Balaam, and he struck his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam,“ I called you to curse my enemies, but behold, you have persisted in blessing them these three times!

Nevertheless many, even of the rulers, believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, so that they would not be excommunicated from the synagogue;

Then the sons of Israel spoke to Moses, saying,“ Behold, we are passing away, we are perishing, we are all perishing!Everyone who comes near, who comes near to the tabernacle of the Lord, must die. Are we to perish completely?”

Sinners in Zion are terrified; Trembling has seized the godless.“ Who among us can live with the consuming fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?”

Under these circumstances, after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all,“ Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

So she said to Elijah,“ Why is my business any of yours, you man of God? Yet you have come to me to bring my wrongdoing to remembrance, and to put my son to death!”
