They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them:“ By what power or what name did you do this?”

耶穌進了殿，正教訓人的時候，祭司長和民間的長老來問他說：「你仗着甚麼權柄做這些事？給你這權柄的是誰呢？」

帶到了，便叫使徒站在公會前；大祭司問他們說：「我們不是嚴嚴地禁止你們，不可奉這名教訓人嗎？你們倒把你們的道理充滿了耶路撒冷，想要叫這人的血歸到我們身上！」

你們眾人和以色列百姓都當知道，站在你們面前的這人得痊癒是因你們所釘十字架、神叫他從死裏復活的拿撒勒人耶穌基督的名。

公會的人聽從了他，便叫使徒來，把他們打了，又吩咐他們不可奉耶穌的名講道，就把他們釋放了。

那人說：「誰立你作我們的首領和審判官呢？難道你要殺我，像殺那埃及人嗎？」摩西便懼怕，說：「這事必是被人知道了。」

因此猶太人問他說：「你既做這些事，還顯甚麼神蹟給我們看呢？」

他們聽見這話，就從老到少，一個一個地都出去了，只剩下耶穌一人，還有那婦人仍然站在當中。

文士和法利賽人帶着一個行淫時被拿的婦人來，叫她站在當中，

宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在民間的高位上。有兩個匪徒來，坐在拿伯的對面，當着眾民作見證告他說：「拿伯謗瀆神和王了！」眾人就把他拉到城外，用石頭打死。於是打發人去見耶洗別，說：「拿伯被石頭打死了。」
