James and John( the sons of Zebedee, but Jesus nicknamed them“ Sons of Thunder”),

As a result, other Jewish believers followed Peter’s hypocrisy, and even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.

Their disagreement was so sharp that they separated. Barnabas took John Mark with him and sailed for Cyprus.

In fact, James, Peter, and John, who were known as pillars of the church, recognized the gift God had given me, and they accepted Barnabas and me as their co workers. They encouraged us to keep preaching to the Gentiles, while they continued their work with the Jews.

Or is it only Barnabas and I who have to work to support ourselves?

When Barnabas and Saul had finished their mission to Jerusalem, they returned, taking John Mark with them.Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon( called“ the black man”), Lucius( from Cyrene), Manaen( the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas), and Saul.

This they did, entrusting their gifts to Barnabas and Saul to take to the elders of the church in Jerusalem.

Some believers from Caesarea accompanied us, and they took us to the home of Mnason, a man originally from Cyprus and one of the early believers.

Paul and Barnabas disagreed with them, arguing vehemently. Finally, the church decided to send Paul and Barnabas to Jerusalem, accompanied by some local believers, to talk to the apostles and elders about this question.

Then Barnabas brought him to the apostles and told them how Saul had seen the Lord on the way to Damascus and how the Lord had spoken to Saul. He also told them that Saul had preached boldly in the name of Jesus in Damascus.

When the church at Jerusalem heard what had happened, they sent Barnabas to Antioch.When he arrived and saw this evidence of God’s blessing, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord.Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and strong in faith. And many people were brought to the Lord.Then Barnabas went on to Tarsus to look for Saul.

Meanwhile, the believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch of Syria. They preached the word of God, but only to Jews.However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus.

Everyone listened quietly as Barnabas and Paul told about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.

Barnabas agreed and wanted to take along John Mark.
