When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus.

So they stayed there for some time and spoke boldly in reliance on the Lord, who testified to the message of His grace by granting that signs and wonders be performed through them.

Look down from heaven and see from Your lofty home— holy and beautiful. Where is Your zeal and Your might? Your yearning and Your compassion are withheld from me.

Yahweh, remember what has happened to us. Look, and see our disgrace!

After threatening them further, they released them. They found no way to punish them, because the people were all giving glory to God over what had been done;

For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.So don’t be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, or of me His prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God.

For the king knows about these matters. It is to him I am actually speaking boldly. For I am convinced that none of these things escapes his notice, since this was not done in a corner.

Listen closely, Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, Lord, and see. Hear all the words that Sennacherib has sent to mock the living God.Lord, it is true that the kings of Assyria have devastated all these countries and their lands.They have thrown their gods into the fire, for they were not gods but made by human hands— wood and stone. So they have destroyed them.Now, Lord our God, save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord— You alone.
