因為六日之內，耶和華造天、地、海和其中的萬物，第七日就安息了；所以耶和華賜福與安息日，定為聖日。

『唉！主耶和華，看哪，你曾用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造天和地，在你沒有難成的事。

「『你，惟獨你是耶和華！你造了天和天上的天，以及天上的萬象，地和地上的萬物，海和海中所有的；一切的生命全都是你賞賜的。天軍都敬拜你。

要常常喜樂，不住地禱告，凡事謝恩，因為這是神在基督耶穌裏向你們所定的旨意。

惟有主站在我身邊，加給我力量，使我能把福音完整地傳開，讓所有的外邦人都聽見；我也從獅子口裏被救出來。主必救我脫離一切的兇惡，也必救我進他的天國。願榮耀歸給他，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

弟兄們，我們不要你們不知道，我們從前在亞細亞遭遇苦難，因受到無法忍受的壓力，甚至連活命的指望都沒有了。自己心裏也斷定是必死無疑，這是要使我們不依靠自己，只依靠使死人復活的神。他曾救我們脫離那極大的死亡，他要繼續救我們，而且我們指望他將來還要救我們。你們也要一同用祈禱來幫助我們，好使許多人為我們感恩，因着他們許多的禱告，我們獲得了恩賜。

以雅各的神為幫助、仰望耶和華－他神的，這人有福了！耶和華造天、地、海和其中的萬物，他守信實，直到永遠。

我的心哪，你當默默無聲，專等候神，因為我的盼望是從他而來。惟獨他是我的磐石，我的拯救；他是我的庇護所，我必不動搖。我的拯救、我的榮耀都在於神；我力量的磐石、我的避難所都在於神。百姓啊，要時時倚靠他，在他面前傾心吐意；神是我們的避難所。（細拉）

希西家向耶和華禱告說：「坐在基路伯之上耶和華－以色列的神啊，你，惟有你是地上萬國的神，你創造了天和地。

你們要向耶和華唱歌！要讚美耶和華！因他救了窮人的性命脫離惡人的手。

惟耶和華是真神，是活的神，是永遠的王。他一發怒，大地震動；他一惱恨，列國擔當不起。你們要對他們這樣說：「那些不是創造天地的神明，必從地上、從天下被除滅！」耶和華以能力創造大地，以智慧建立世界，以聰明鋪張穹蒼。

我，惟有我是安慰你們的。你是誰，竟怕那必死的人，怕那生命如草的世人，

至於我，我要求告神，耶和華必拯救我。晚上、早晨、中午我要哀聲悲嘆，他就垂聽我的聲音。他救贖我的命脫離攻擊我的人，使我得享平安，因為與我相爭的人很多。

耶和華－我們的神啊，現在求你救我們脫離亞述王的手，使地上萬國都知道惟獨你－耶和華是神！」

他們怒氣填胸，彼此商議怎樣對付耶穌。在那些日子，耶穌出去，上山祈禱，整夜向神禱告。

但我困苦憂傷；神啊，願你的救恩將我安置在高處。我要以詩歌讚美神的名，以感謝尊他為大！

願與我作對的人披戴羞辱！願他們以自己的羞愧作外袍遮身！我要用口極力稱謝耶和華，我要在眾人中間讚美他；因為他必站在貧窮人的右邊，救他脫離定他死罪的人。
