眾皆揚聲讚頌上主曰：『主！爾立天地、作江海、締造萬物、

因為耶和華在六日之內造天、地、海和其中的萬物，第七日就歇息了；所以耶和華賜福安息日，定為聖日。

‘主耶和華啊！你看，你曾用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造了天地；在你並沒有難成的事。

你，唯獨你是耶和華，你造了天，天上的天和天軍，地和地上的萬物，海和海中的萬物，你使這一切生存，天軍也都敬拜你。

要常常喜樂，不住禱告，凡事謝恩；這就是神在基督耶穌裡給你們的旨意。

然而主站在我旁邊，加給我力量，使福音的信息藉著我盡都傳開，萬國的人都可以聽見；他並且把我從獅子口中救出來。主必救我脫離一切邪惡的事，也必救我進入他天上的國。願榮耀歸給他，直到永永遠遠。阿們。

弟兄們，我們在亞西亞遭受的患難，我們很想讓你們知道。那時我們受到了過於我們所能忍受的壓力，甚至活下去的希望都沒有了，而且斷定自己是必死的了；然而，這正是要我們不倚靠自己，只倚靠那叫死人復活的神。他救我們脫離了那極大的死亡，而且他還要救我們，我們希望他將來仍要救我們。請你們一同用禱告支持我們，好使許多人為著我們所蒙的恩獻上感謝。這恩是藉著許多人的代求而得到的。

以雅各的神為自己的幫助，仰望耶和華他的神的，這人就是有福的。耶和華造天、地、海，和其中的萬物；他持守信實，直到永遠。

唯獨等候神，我的心才有安息；因為我的盼望是從他而來的。唯獨他是我的磐石，我的拯救；他是我的保障，我必不至動搖。我的拯救，我的榮耀，都在於神；我堅固的磐石，我的避難所，都在於神。眾民哪！你們要常常倚靠他，在他面前傾心吐意；因為神是我們的避難所。（細拉）

希西家在耶和華面前禱告，說：“耶和華以色列的神，坐在二基路伯中間的啊，只有你是地上萬國的神，天地是你創造的。

你們要歌頌耶和華，讚美耶和華；因為他救了窮乏人的性命，脫離惡人的手。

只有耶和華是真神；他是永活的神，是永遠的君王。他一發怒，大地就震動，萬國都不能承受他的忿怒。你們要對他們這樣說：“那些沒有創造天地的神，必從地上、從天下消滅。”耶和華用自己的能力創造了大地，用自己的智慧堅立了世界，又用自己的聰明展開了諸天。

“我，我耶和華是安慰你們的；你是誰，竟怕那會死的人，怕那被造如草的世人呢？

至於我，我卻要求告神，耶和華就必拯救我。無論在晚上、早晨或中午，我都哀訴唉哼；他必聽我的聲音。他救贖我的性命脫離攻擊我的人，使我得著平安，儘管攻擊我的人的確很多。

現在，耶和華我們的神啊，求你從他的手中把我們拯救出來，地上萬國就可以知道只有你耶和華才是神。”

他們卻大怒，彼此商議怎樣對付耶穌。在那些日子，有一次耶穌出去到山上禱告，整夜禱告神。

至於我，我是憂傷痛苦的人；神啊！願你的救恩保護我。我要用詩歌讚美神的名，以感謝尊他為大。

願敵對我的披戴羞辱；願他們以自己的恥辱為外袍披在身上。我要用口極力稱謝耶和華；我要在眾人中間讚美他。因為他必站在貧窮人的右邊，拯救他脫離定他死罪的人。

約在半夜，保羅和西拉祈禱歌頌神，囚犯們都側耳聽著。
