‘主耶和华啊！你看，你曾用大能和伸出来的膀臂创造了天地；在你并没有难成的事。

你，唯独你是耶和华，你造了天，天上的天和天军，地和地上的万物，海和海中的万物，你使这一切生存，天军也都敬拜你。

要常常喜乐，不住祷告，凡事谢恩；这就是神在基督耶稣里给你们的旨意。

然而主站在我旁边，加给我力量，使福音的信息藉着我尽都传开，万国的人都可以听见；他并且把我从狮子口中救出来。主必救我脱离一切邪恶的事，也必救我进入他天上的国。愿荣耀归给他，直到永永远远。阿们。

弟兄们，我们在亚西亚遭受的患难，我们很想让你们知道。那时我们受到了过于我们所能忍受的压力，甚至活下去的希望都没有了，而且断定自己是必死的了；然而，这正是要我们不倚靠自己，只倚靠那叫死人复活的神。他救我们脱离了那极大的死亡，而且他还要救我们，我们希望他将来仍要救我们。请你们一同用祷告支持我们，好使许多人为着我们所蒙的恩献上感谢。这恩是藉着许多人的代求而得到的。

以雅各的神为自己的帮助，仰望耶和华他的神的，这人就是有福的。耶和华造天、地、海，和其中的万物；他持守信实，直到永远。

唯独等候神，我的心才有安息；因为我的盼望是从他而来的。唯独他是我的磐石，我的拯救；他是我的保障，我必不至动摇。我的拯救，我的荣耀，都在于神；我坚固的磐石，我的避难所，都在于神。众民哪！你们要常常倚靠他，在他面前倾心吐意；因为神是我们的避难所。（细拉）

希西家在耶和华面前祷告，说：“耶和华以色列的神，坐在二基路伯中间的啊，只有你是地上万国的神，天地是你创造的。

你们要歌颂耶和华，赞美耶和华；因为他救了穷乏人的性命，脱离恶人的手。

只有耶和华是真神；他是永活的神，是永远的君王。他一发怒，大地就震动，万国都不能承受他的忿怒。你们要对他们这样说：“那些没有创造天地的神，必从地上、从天下消灭。”耶和华用自己的能力创造了大地，用自己的智慧坚立了世界，又用自己的聪明展开了诸天。

“我，我耶和华是安慰你们的；你是谁，竟怕那会死的人，怕那被造如草的世人呢？

至于我，我却要求告神，耶和华就必拯救我。无论在晚上、早晨或中午，我都哀诉唉哼；他必听我的声音。他救赎我的性命脱离攻击我的人，使我得着平安，尽管攻击我的人的确很多。

现在，耶和华我们的神啊，求你从他的手中把我们拯救出来，地上万国就可以知道只有你耶和华才是神。”

他们却大怒，彼此商议怎样对付耶稣。在那些日子，有一次耶稣出去到山上祷告，整夜祷告神。

至于我，我是忧伤痛苦的人；神啊！愿你的救恩保护我。我要用诗歌赞美神的名，以感谢尊他为大。

愿敌对我的披戴羞辱；愿他们以自己的耻辱为外袍披在身上。我要用口极力称谢耶和华；我要在众人中间赞美他。因为他必站在贫穷人的右边，拯救他脱离定他死罪的人。

约在半夜，保罗和西拉祈祷歌颂神，囚犯们都侧耳听着。
