眾皆揚聲讚頌上主曰：『主！爾立天地、作江海、締造萬物、

因為耶和華用六天造了天、地、海和其中的萬物，第七天便休息了，所以耶和華賜福這日，把它定為聖日。

「主耶和華啊，看啊，你伸出大能的臂膀創造天地，你無所不能。

「你，唯有你是耶和華！你造了天、天上的天和天上的萬象、地和地上的一切、海和海中的一切，你賜給他們生命。眾天軍都敬拜你。

要常常喜樂，不斷地禱告，凡事謝恩，因為這是上帝在基督耶穌裡給你們的旨意。

然而主站在我身旁加給我力量，使我可以把福音清楚地傳給外族人。主把我從獅子口裡救了出來。主必救我脫離一切兇險，帶我進入祂的天國。願榮耀歸給上帝，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

弟兄姊妹，希望你們知道我們在亞細亞所遭遇的苦難。那時我們承受極大的壓力，超過了我們的極限，甚至連活命的指望都沒了。我們心裡覺得必死無疑，這使我們不倚靠自己，只倚靠使死人復活的上帝。祂曾救我們脫離死亡的威脅，將來還要救我們。我們深信祂必繼續救我們。你們也要用祈禱幫助我們，使恩典藉著許多人的禱告臨到我們，眾人便因此而為我們感恩。

蒙雅各的上帝相助、仰望上帝耶和華的人有福了！耶和華創造了天、地、海和其中的萬物，祂永遠信實可靠。

我的心啊！要默默等候上帝，因為我的盼望從祂而來。唯有祂才是我的磐石，我的拯救，我的堡壘，我必不致動搖。上帝是我的拯救者，是我的榮耀，祂是我的堅固磐石，是我的避難所。眾百姓啊，要時刻信靠上帝，向祂傾心吐意，因為祂是我們的避難所。（細拉）

禱告說：「坐在二基路伯天使之上、以色列的上帝耶和華啊，唯有你是天下萬國的上帝，你創造了天地。

你們要歌頌耶和華！要讚美耶和華！因為祂從惡人手中救出窮人。

唯有耶和華是真神，是永活的上帝，是永恆的君王。祂一發怒，大地便震動，萬國都無法承受。你們要這樣對他們說：「那些神明沒有創造天地，它們將從天下消亡。」耶和華施展大能，用智慧創造大地和世界，巧妙地鋪展穹蒼。

耶和華說：「安慰你們的是我，是我。你為什麼要害怕難逃一死、生命如草芥的世人呢？

但我要呼求耶和華上帝，祂必拯救我。晚上、早晨和中午，我發出痛苦的呼求，祂必垂聽。雖然許多人攻擊我，祂必救我平安脫離險境。

我們的上帝耶和華啊，現在求你從亞述王手中拯救我們，讓天下萬國都知道唯有你是耶和華。」

但法利賽人和律法教師卻怒火中燒，開始商議對付耶穌的辦法。一天，耶穌到山上整夜向上帝禱告。

上帝啊，我陷入痛苦和憂傷，求你拯救我，保護我。我要用歌聲讚美上帝的名，以感恩的心尊崇祂。

願誣告我的人滿面羞辱，無地自容。我要竭力頌揚耶和華，在眾人面前讚美祂。因為祂保護貧窮的人，拯救他們脫離置他們於死地的人。

半夜，保羅和西拉禱告、唱詩讚美上帝，其他的囚犯都側耳傾聽。
