For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this sign.The Pharisees therefore said among themselves,“ You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!”

So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

Then Peter said,“ Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them— walking, leaping, and praising God.And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the multitudes marveled, saying,“ It was never seen like this in Israel!”

And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying,“ We have seen strange things today!”

But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.”

And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.
