After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.

經生司祭長知此喻之隱射於己、當時即欲執之、惟懾於民眾、有所顧忌、

欲執之、而懾於民情；蓋眾皆奉彼為先知也。

若云自人、又恐犯眾怒、而遭石擊、蓋眾皆確信如望之為先知也。』

惟曰：『毋於節日行之、恐民生變。』

耶穌日訓殿中、而司祭長經生及諸紳正謀所以置諸死地、苦無良策；蓋民皆樂聆其訓、為之神往。

眾聞耶穌行此靈蹟、故爭來迎迓。法利塞人因相語曰：『舉世風從、吾其休矣！』

眾見瘖者言、殘者全、跛者行、瞽者明、乃翕然嘆服、而歸榮於義塞之天主。

眾然其言、召宗徒至命毋奉名傳道、笞而釋之。

伯鐸祿曰：『金與銀、我無有；吾所有、願予爾！吾奉納匝勒人耶穌基督名、命爾起行！』乃挽其右手而起之；其足與踝、立時健復、一躍而起、能立且行、乃隨宗徒入殿、健步踴躍、歌頌天主。眾見其載行載歌、

魔見逐、瘖者言。眾皆驚異曰：『義塞國中、從未睹此。』

眾盡驚服、歸榮天主、心懷寅畏、而相語曰：『我儕今見神異之事矣！』

第恐流傳益廣、當加以警誡、使勿再奉耶穌之名以訓人。』

耶穌言時、諸仇慚恧、而眾人則因其所行非凡之事、而為之歡欣鼓舞。
