After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.

於是守衛長與差役們一起去把使徒們帶來，並沒有用暴力，因為怕民眾用石頭砸他們。

祭司長們和經文士們在圖謀怎樣能殺掉耶穌，因為他們怕民眾。

眾人看見就起了敬畏之心，就榮耀神，因為他賜給人這樣的權柄。

經文士和祭司長們知道這個比喻是針對他們而說的，當時就想下手捉拿耶穌，可是又怕民眾。

就想拘捕他，可是怕民眾，因為他們都認為耶穌是先知。

但如果說『是來自人間』，那麼民眾都會用石頭砸我們，因為他們深信約翰是先知。」

不過他們說：「不可在節日期間，免得民中發生騷亂。」

耶穌天天在聖殿裡教導人。祭司長們、經文士們和民間的首領們想要殺害他，可是他們不知道怎樣下手，因為民眾都傾心聽他。

眾人之所以也去迎接他，是因為他們聽說他行了這神蹟。於是法利賽人互相說：「可見你們真沒用！看，這世界都跟隨他去了。」

結果眾人看見聾啞的說話，殘疾的康復，瘸腿的行走，瞎眼的看見，都感到驚奇，就榮耀以色列的神。

就叫來使徒們，鞭打了以後，吩咐他們不可再奉耶穌的名講說，然後把他們釋放了。

彼得卻說：「金子銀子我都沒有，只把我有的給你：奉拿撒勒人耶穌基督的名，起來走路吧！」彼得抓著他的右手，扶他起來。他的腳和踝骨立刻就健壯了。他一跳，站了起來，並且行走，與他們一起進入聖殿，邊走邊跳，讚美神。全體民眾都看見他邊走邊讚美神，

鬼魔一被趕出去，啞巴就說出話來。眾人都感到驚奇，他們說：「這樣的事，在以色列從來沒有見過。」

於是大家都驚訝不已，就不住地榮耀神，並且滿懷敬畏之心說：「我們今天看到奇妙的事了！」

不過為了避免這事在民間傳揚更廣，讓我們威嚇他們，不可再奉耶穌的名對任何人講話。」

耶穌說了這些話，所有反對他的人都感到蒙羞，可是眾人都因他所行的一切榮耀的事而感到歡喜。
