经文士和祭司长们知道这个比喻是针对他们而说的，当时就想下手捉拿耶稣，可是又怕民众。

就想拘捕他，可是怕民众，因为他们都认为耶稣是先知。

但如果说‘是来自人间’，那么民众都会用石头砸我们，因为他们深信约翰是先知。”

不过他们说：“不可在节日期间，免得民中发生骚乱。”

耶稣天天在圣殿里教导人。祭司长们、经文士们和民间的首领们想要杀害他，可是他们不知道怎样下手，因为民众都倾心听他。

众人之所以也去迎接他，是因为他们听说他行了这神迹。于是法利赛人互相说：“可见你们真没用！看，这世界都跟随他去了。”

结果众人看见聋哑的说话，残疾的康复，瘸腿的行走，瞎眼的看见，都感到惊奇，就荣耀以色列的神。

就叫来使徒们，鞭打了以后，吩咐他们不可再奉耶稣的名讲说，然后把他们释放了。

彼得却说：“金子银子我都没有，只把我有的给你：奉拿撒勒人耶稣基督的名，起来走路吧！”彼得抓着他的右手，扶他起来。他的脚和踝骨立刻就健壮了。他一跳，站了起来，并且行走，与他们一起进入圣殿，边走边跳，赞美神。全体民众都看见他边走边赞美神，

鬼魔一被赶出去，哑巴就说出话来。众人都感到惊奇，他们说：“这样的事，在以色列从来没有见过。”

于是大家都惊讶不已，就不住地荣耀神，并且满怀敬畏之心说：“我们今天看到奇妙的事了！”

不过为了避免这事在民间传扬更广，让我们威吓他们，不可再奉耶稣的名对任何人讲话。”

耶稣说了这些话，所有反对他的人都感到蒙羞，可是众人都因他所行的一切荣耀的事而感到欢喜。
