聖殿護衛長和差役再去把使徒抓回來。這次他們不敢動粗，生怕百姓會用石頭打他們。

祭司長和律法教師因為害怕百姓，便密謀如何殺害耶穌。

看見的人都充滿了敬畏，就讚美把這樣的權柄賜給人的上帝。

律法教師和祭司長聽出這比喻是針對他們說的，便想立刻下手捉拿耶穌，但又害怕百姓。

他們試圖逮捕耶穌，但又害怕百姓，因為百姓都認為耶穌是先知。

如果我們說『是從人來的』，百姓會拿石頭打死我們，因為他們相信約翰是先知。」

但他們認為在節日期間不宜下手，因為可能會在百姓中引起騷亂。

祂天天在聖殿教導人，祭司長、律法教師和百姓的官長都想殺祂，只是無從下手，因為百姓都十分喜愛聽祂講道。

許多聽過耶穌行這神蹟的人都去迎接祂。法利賽人彼此議論說：「我們真是枉費心思！你看，整個世界都跟著祂跑了。」

大家看見啞巴說話，殘疾的復原，瘸子走路，瞎子看見，都很驚奇，就讚美以色列的上帝。

公會採納了他的意見，於是把使徒召回來打了一頓，再次警告他們不可奉耶穌的名傳道，才放了他們。

彼得說：「金子、銀子我都沒有，但是我把我有的給你。我奉拿撒勒人耶穌基督的名，命令你起來行走！」彼得拉著他的右手扶他起來，那人的腳和踝骨立刻變得強健有力。他跳了起來，站穩後開始行走，跟著彼得和約翰進入聖殿，走著跳著讚美上帝。大家看見他一邊走一邊讚美上帝，

耶穌把鬼趕出去後，啞巴就能說話了。眾人都感到驚奇，說：「在以色列從未見過這樣的事。」

眾人都十分驚奇，一同讚美上帝，心裡充滿了敬畏，說：「今天我們看到神蹟了！」

為了避免這件事傳得更廣，我們必須警告他們以後不許再對任何人傳講耶穌的事。」

反對祂的人聽了這番話後，都非常羞愧，眾人卻為耶穌的奇妙作為高興歡喜。
