圣殿护卫长和差役再去把使徒抓回来。这次他们不敢动粗，生怕百姓会用石头打他们。

祭司长和律法教师因为害怕百姓，便密谋如何杀害耶稣。

看见的人都充满了敬畏，就赞美把这样的权柄赐给人的上帝。

律法教师和祭司长听出这比喻是针对他们说的，便想立刻下手捉拿耶稣，但又害怕百姓。

他们试图逮捕耶稣，但又害怕百姓，因为百姓都认为耶稣是先知。

如果我们说‘是从人来的’，百姓会拿石头打死我们，因为他们相信约翰是先知。”

但他们认为在节日期间不宜下手，因为可能会在百姓中引起骚乱。

祂天天在圣殿教导人，祭司长、律法教师和百姓的官长都想杀祂，只是无从下手，因为百姓都十分喜爱听祂讲道。

许多听过耶稣行这神迹的人都去迎接祂。法利赛人彼此议论说：“我们真是枉费心思！你看，整个世界都跟着祂跑了。”

大家看见哑巴说话，残疾的复原，瘸子走路，瞎子看见，都很惊奇，就赞美以色列的上帝。

公会采纳了他的意见，于是把使徒召回来打了一顿，再次警告他们不可奉耶稣的名传道，才放了他们。

彼得说：“金子、银子我都没有，但是我把我有的给你。我奉拿撒勒人耶稣基督的名，命令你起来行走！”彼得拉着他的右手扶他起来，那人的脚和踝骨立刻变得强健有力。他跳了起来，站稳后开始行走，跟着彼得和约翰进入圣殿，走着跳着赞美上帝。大家看见他一边走一边赞美上帝，

耶稣把鬼赶出去后，哑巴就能说话了。众人都感到惊奇，说：“在以色列从未见过这样的事。”

众人都十分惊奇，一同赞美上帝，心里充满了敬畏，说：“今天我们看到神迹了！”

为了避免这件事传得更广，我们必须警告他们以后不许再对任何人传讲耶稣的事。”

反对祂的人听了这番话后，都非常羞愧，众人却为耶稣的奇妙作为高兴欢喜。
