A little later the bystanders came up and said to Peter,“ You really are one of them as well, since even the way you talk gives you away.”

but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought Peter in.Then the slave woman who was the doorkeeper* said to Peter,“ You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?” He* said,“ I am not.”

Those who had arrested Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.But Peter was following Him at a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest, and he came inside and sat down with the officers to see the outcome.

Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.And He* said to them,“ Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.”Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets; and He called them.Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.

When he had gone out to the gateway, another slave woman saw him and* said to those who were there,“ This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

So when Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He* said to His mother,“ Woman, behold, your son!”

But this crowd that does not know the Law is accursed!”

And so Jesus sent Peter and John, saying,“ Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.”

And Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders who had come against Him,“ Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against a man inciting a revolt?While I was with you daily in the temple, you did not lay hands on Me; but this hour and the power of darkness are yours.”Now they arrested Him and led Him away, and brought Him to the house of the high priest; but Peter was following at a distance.

And a slave woman, seeing him as he sat in the firelight, and staring at him, said,“ This man was with Him as well.”But he denied it, saying,“ I do not know Him, woman!”And a little later, another person saw him and said,“ You are one of them too!” But Peter said,“ Man, I am not!”And after about an hour had passed, some other man began to insist, saying,“ Certainly this man also was with Him, for he, too, is a Galilean.”But Peter said,“ Man, I do not know what you are talking about!” And immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
