But when he saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them,“ You offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

Then the commander of the temple guard went with the officers and brought the apostles without the use of force( for they were afraid of being stoned by the people).

Now when the commander of the temple guard and the chief priests heard this report, they were greatly puzzled concerning it, wondering what this could be.

So Judas obtained a squad of soldiers and some officers of the chief priests and Pharisees. They came to the orchard with lanterns and torches and weapons.

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus killed.

This is what you must do. One third of you priests and Levites who are on duty during the Sabbath will guard the doors.Another third of you will be stationed at the royal palace and still another third at the Foundation Gate.
