他去和祭司长并守殿官商量，怎么可以把耶稣交给他们。

他们又耸动了百姓、长老，并文士，就忽然来捉拿他，把他带到公会去，

保罗看出大众一半是撒都该人，一半是法利赛人，就在公会中大声说：“弟兄们，我是法利赛人，也是法利赛人的子孙。我现在受审问，是为盼望死人复活。”说了这话，法利赛人和撒都该人就争论起来，会众分为两党。因为撒都该人说，没有复活，也没有天使和鬼魂；法利赛人却说，两样都有。于是大大地喧嚷起来。有几个法利赛党的文士站起来争辩说：“我们看不出这人有什么恶处，倘若有鬼魂或是天使对他说过话，怎么样呢？”

撒都该人常说没有复活的事。那天，他们来问耶稣说：“夫子，摩西说：‘人若死了，没有孩子，他兄弟当娶他的妻，为哥哥生子立后。’

约翰看见许多法利赛人和撒都该人也来受洗，就对他们说：“毒蛇的种类！谁指示你们逃避将来的忿怒呢？

于是守殿官和差役去带使徒来，并没有用强暴，因为怕百姓用石头打他们。

守殿官和祭司长听见这话，心里犯难，不知这事将来如何。

犹大领了一队兵，和祭司长并法利赛人的差役，拿着灯笼、火把、兵器，就来到园里。

祭司长和长老挑唆众人，求释放巴拉巴，除灭耶稣。

又说：“你们当这样行：祭司和利未人凡安息日进班的，三分之一要把守各门，三分之一要在王宫，三分之一要在基址门；众百姓要在耶和华殿的院内。除了祭司和供职的利未人之外，不准别人进耶和华的殿；惟独他们可以进去，因为他们圣洁。众百姓要遵守耶和华所吩咐的。利未人要手中各拿兵器，四围护卫王；凡擅入殿宇的，必当治死。王出入的时候，你们当跟随他。”利未人和犹大众人都照着祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行，各带所管安息日进班出班的人来，因为祭司耶何耶大不许他们下班。祭司耶何耶大便将神殿里所藏大卫王的枪、盾牌、挡牌交给百夫长，

神的道兴旺起来；在耶路撒冷门徒数目加增的甚多，也有许多祭司信从了这道。

到了早晨，众祭司长和民间的长老大家商议要治死耶稣，就把他捆绑，解去，交给巡抚彼拉多。

那时，祭司长和民间的长老聚集在大祭司称为该亚法的院里。大家商议要用诡计拿住耶稣，杀他，

祭司长和文士并长老也是这样戏弄他，说：

门徒这才晓得他说的不是叫他们防备饼的酵，乃是防备法利赛人和撒都该人的教训。

就打发他们的门徒同希律党的人去见耶稣，说：“夫子，我们知道你是诚实人，并且诚诚实实传神的道，什么人你都不徇情面，因为你不看人的外貌。

又有大祭司亚那和该亚法、约翰、亚历山大，并大祭司的亲族都在那里，

你们要记念我从前对你们所说的话：‘仆人不能大于主人。’他们若逼迫了我，也要逼迫你们；若遵守了我的话，也要遵守你们的话。
