For Moses said,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.

摩西有言、「上主必自爾中、立一先知、正如立吾；

Moses said,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me. He will be one of your own people. You must listen to everything he tells you.

Moses said,‘ The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.

Moses said,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your own people. Listen carefully to everything he tells you.’

Moses said: The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to everything he tells you.

Moses said,‘ The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your countrymen; to Him you shall listen regarding everything He says to you.

For Moses truly said to the fathers,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you.

Moses indeed said, A prophet shall the Lord God raise up unto you from among your brethren, like unto me; to him shall ye hearken in all things whatsoever he shall speak unto you.

Moses said: The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He will say to you.

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

Moses said,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you.

For Moses indeed said to the fathers,‘ The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.For this is what you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said,“ Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die.”The Lord said to me:“ What they say is good.I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.

“ This is the Moses who told the Israelites,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your own people.’

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways,but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

“ Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus.They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him,“ Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters— one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”( He did not know what he was saying.)While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.A voice came from the cloud, saying,“ This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”

And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.Peter said to Jesus,“ Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters— one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”( He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud:“ This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

Peter said to Jesus,“ Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters— one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples.

But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.He says,“ I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.”And again,“ I will put my trust in him.” And again he says,“ Here am I, and the children God has given me.”Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death— that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,yet you refuse to come to me to have life.“ I do not accept glory from human beings,but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts.I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?“ But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set.If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”

“ What things?” he asked.“ About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied.“ He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.

We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,“ I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day— for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!
