Moses said: The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to everything he tells you.

For Moses said,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.

Moses said,‘ The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your countrymen; to Him you shall listen regarding everything He says to you.

For Moses truly said to the fathers,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you.

Moses indeed said, A prophet shall the Lord God raise up unto you from among your brethren, like unto me; to him shall ye hearken in all things whatsoever he shall speak unto you.

Moses said: The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He will say to you.

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

Moses said,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you.

For Moses indeed said to the fathers,‘ The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.

“ The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.This is what you requested from the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said,‘ Let us not continue to hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this great fire any longer, so that we will not die!’Then the LORD said to me,‘ They have spoken well.I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.I will hold accountable whoever does not listen to my words that he speaks in my name.

“ This is the Moses who said to the Israelites: God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.

When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

Long ago God spoke to our ancestors by the prophets at different times and in different ways.In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things and made the universe through him.

“ Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.

Suddenly, two men were talking with him— Moses and Elijah.They appeared in glory and were speaking of his departure, which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem.Peter and those with him were in a deep sleep, and when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men who were standing with him.As the two men were departing from him, Peter said to Jesus,“ Master, it’s good for us to be here. Let’s set up three shelters: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”— not knowing what he was saying.While he was saying this, a cloud appeared and overshadowed them. They became afraid as they entered the cloud.Then a voice came from the cloud, saying,“ This is my Son, the Chosen One; listen to him!”

Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.Peter said to Jesus,“ Rabbi, it’s good for us to be here. Let’s set up three shelters: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—because he did not know what to say, since they were terrified.A cloud appeared, overshadowing them, and a voice came from the cloud:“ This is my beloved Son; listen to him!”

I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me would not remain in darkness.

The revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

Then Peter said to Jesus,“ Lord, it’s good for us to be here. If you want, I will set up three shelters here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him!”

The ancestors are theirs, and from them, by physical descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, praised forever. Amen.

Pay attention and come to me; listen, so that you will live. I will make a permanent covenant with you on the basis of the faithful kindnesses of David.Since I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples,

But we do see Jesus— made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace he might taste death for everyone— crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death.For in bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God— for whom and through whom all things exist— should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.For the one who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,saying: I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters; I will sing hymns to you in the congregation.Again, I will trust in him. And again, Here I am with the children God gave me.Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through his death he might destroy the one holding the power of death— that is, the devil—and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.For it is clear that he does not reach out to help angels, but to help Abraham’s offspring.Therefore, he had to be like his brothers and sisters in every way, so that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in matters pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

for the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

After he was perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me.But you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.“ I do not accept glory from people,but I know you— that you have no love for God within you.I have come in my Father’s name, and yet you don’t accept me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.How can you believe, since you accept glory from one another but don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope.For if you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.But if you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe my words?”

“ What things?” he asked them. So they said to him,“ The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet powerful in action and speech before God and all the people,

For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away.

For what the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering,

Jesus spoke to them again:“ I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

Yet it is necessary that I travel today, tomorrow, and the next day, because it is not possible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.
