正如主藉着古時候聖先知的口所說的，

他們就問耶穌：「文士為甚麼說以利亞必須先來？」耶穌說：「以利亞的確先來復興萬事。經上不是指着人子說，他要受許多的苦和被人輕慢嗎？我告訴你們，以利亞已經來了，他們任意待他，正如經上指着他說的。」

天使又對我說：「這些話是可信靠的，是真實的。主，就是賜靈感給眾先知的神，差遣他的使者，要將必須快要發生的事指示他的眾僕人。」

耶穌回答：「以利亞的確要來，並要復興萬事；可是我告訴你們，以利亞已經來了，人不認識他，反倒任意待他。人子也將這樣受他們的苦。」

他必坐下如煉淨銀子的人，必潔淨利未人，熬煉他們像金銀一樣；他們就憑公義獻供物給耶和華。那時，猶大和耶路撒冷所獻的供物必蒙耶和華悅納，彷彿古時之日、上古之年。

要你們記得聖先知預先所說的話和主－救主的命令，就是使徒所傳給你們的。

因為預言從來沒有出於人意的，而是人被聖靈感動說出神的話來。

眾先知也為這人作見證：凡信他的人，必藉着他的名得蒙赦罪。」

所以，你們當悔改歸正，使你們的罪得以塗去，

天哪，眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊！你們都要因她歡喜，因為神已經在她身上為你們伸了冤。」
