他們就問耶穌：“經學家為甚麼說以利亞必須先來呢？”耶穌說：“以利亞固然要先來復興一切，但聖經為甚麼又記載人子要受許多苦，被人藐視呢？其實我告訴你們，以利亞已經來了，他們卻任意待他，正如經上指著他所說的。”

天使對我說：“這些話是可信的、真實的！主，就是眾先知之靈的神，差遣了他的天使，把那快要發生的事，指示他的僕人。”

他回答：“以利亞當然要來，並且復興一切。但我告訴你們，以利亞已經來了，可是人們卻不認識他，反而任意待他。照樣，人子也要這樣被他們苦待。”

他必坐著，像熬煉和潔淨銀子的人；他必潔淨利未人，煉淨他們像煉淨金銀一樣。這樣，他們就會憑公義獻禮物給耶和華。那時，猶大和耶路撒冷所獻的禮物，必蒙耶和華悅納，正如古時的日子，也像往昔之年一樣。

叫你們記起聖先知說過的話，和主救主藉著使徒傳給你們的誡命。

因為預言不是出於人意的，而是人受聖靈的感動，說出從神而來的話。

所有先知都為他作見證：所有信他的，都必藉著他的名，罪得赦免。”

所以你們應當悔改歸正，使你們的罪得著塗抹。

天哪，你要因她歡喜！眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊，你們也要因她歡喜！因為神已經在她身上為你們伸了冤。”
