He will send the Messiah. Jesus has been appointed as the Messiah for you.

that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,

And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and so that he may send the Messiah appointed for you– that is, Jesus.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

“ Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.“ Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.“ But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

“ At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.“ Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back— whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.What I say to you, I say to everyone:‘ Watch!’”

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately.“ Tell us,” they said,“ when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us— whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter— asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.“ He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.

At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.

For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

“ Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and“ every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth“ will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.

While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once.
