So she went running to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved and told them,“ They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”Then Peter and the other disciple set out to go to the tomb.The two were running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first.He bent down and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in.Then Simon Peter, who had been following him, arrived and went right into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen cloth lying there,and the face cloth, which had been around Jesus’ head, not lying with the strips of linen cloth but rolled up in a place by itself.Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, came in, and he saw and believed.( For they did not yet understand the scripture that Jesus must rise from the dead.)

Jesus sent Peter and John, saying,“ Go and prepare the Passover for us to eat.”

The first lamb you are to prepare in the morning, and the second lamb you are to prepare around sundown.

When it was time for the evening offering, Elijah the prophet approached the altar and prayed:“ O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.

I tell you the solemn truth, when you were young, you tied your clothes around you and went wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will tie you up and bring you where you do not want to go.”( Now Jesus said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter was going to glorify God.) After he said this, Jesus told Peter,“ Follow me.”Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them.( This was the disciple who had leaned back against Jesus’ chest at the meal and asked,“ Lord, who is the one who is going to betray you?”)So when Peter saw him, he asked Jesus,“ Lord, what about him?”Jesus replied,“ If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours? You follow me!”

It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,because the sun’s light failed. The temple curtain was torn in two.Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said,“ Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And after he said this he breathed his last.

and when James, Cephas, and John, who had a reputation as pillars, recognized the grace that had been given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, agreeing that we would go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
