When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other,“ This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, the goddess Justice has not allowed him to live.”

The people of the island saw the snake hanging from his hand. They said to one another,“ This man must be a murderer. He escaped from the sea. But the female god Justice won’t let him live.”

When the native people saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another,“ No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.”

The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other,“ A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.”

And when the barbarians saw the[ venomous] beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

When the local people saw the creature hanging from Paul’s hand, they said to one another,“ No doubt this man is a murderer! Although he has escaped from the sea, Justice herself has not allowed him to live!”

When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another,“ No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped from the sea, yet Justice has not allowed to live.”

你们以为从前西罗亚楼倒塌的时候，压死的那十八个人，比一切在耶路撒冷的居民更有罪吗？

他回答：“你们以为这些加利利人比其他的加利利人更有罪，才这样受害吗？

所以，从义人亚伯的血起，到巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止，他就是你们在圣所和祭坛中间所杀的，所有义人在地上所流的血，都要归在你们身上。

不要按外貌判断人，总要公公平平地判断人。”

背负流人血之罪的，必逃跑至死，人不可帮助他。

因为你看！耶和华从他的居所出来，要惩罚地上居民的罪孽；大地要露出其上所流的血，不再遮盖被杀的人。”

这就是那欢乐安居之城，她心里曾说：“只有我，除我以外，再没有别的了。”现在怎么竟成了荒场、走兽躺卧之处呢！凡从那里经过的，都必舞手嗤笑。

当地的人对我们非常友善；因为下过一场雨，天气又冷，他们就生了火来招待我们。

在耶和华神所造野地所有的活物中，蛇是最狡猾的。蛇对女人说：“神真的说过，你们不可吃园中任何树上的果子吗？”

躺卧在那里的，只有旷野的走兽；充满着他们房屋的，只有吼叫着的野兽；鸵鸟住在那里，野山羊在那里跳跃。豺狼必在巴比伦的宫中呼号，野狗必在他们华美的殿里吠叫。巴比伦受罚的时候临近了，它的日子必不长久。

但是保罗却把那条蛇抖在火里，自己一点也没有受伤。

他们彼此说：“我们在对待弟弟的事上实在有罪。他向我们求情的时候，我们看见他心里的痛苦，却不肯听他，所以这次苦难临到我们身上了。”流本回答他们，说：“我不是对你们说过：‘不要伤害那孩子’吗？可是你们不肯听，现在流他血的罪要向我们追讨。”

耶稣走路的时候，看见一个生下来就瞎眼的人。他的门徒问他：“拉比，这人生下来就瞎眼，是谁犯了罪？是他呢，还是他的父母呢？”

野地的走兽必尊重我，野狗和鸵鸟也必这样，因为我使旷野有水，使荒地有江河，好使我拣选的子民有水喝，

犯了死罪，故意杀人的，你们不可收取赎价代他赎命，因为他必被处死。逃到避难城的人，你们也不可收取他的赎价，使他在大祭司未死以前回到本地居住。这样，你们就没有玷污你们所在之地，因为血能玷污地；在地上如果有流人血的，除非流那故意杀人者的血，那地的血就不能得赎。你们不可玷污你所住的地，就是我居住的地，因为我耶和华是居住在以色列人中间的。’”

流你们的血、害你们生命的，我必向他们追偿；无论是走兽或人类，甚至各人自己的兄弟，我必要他偿命。流人血的，人也必流他的血；因为神造人，是按着他自己的形象。

只是那些胆怯的、不信的、可憎的、杀人的、淫乱的、行邪术的、拜偶像的和所有说谎的人，他们的分是在烧着硫磺的火湖里。这就是第二次的死。”

该隐对他的弟弟亚伯说：“我们到田间去吧。”﹙《马索拉文本》缺“我们到田间去吧”一句，现参照其他抄本及古译本补上。﹚，该隐就起来袭击他的弟弟亚伯，把他杀了。耶和华问该隐：“你的弟弟亚伯在哪里？”他回答：“我不知道；难道我是看守我弟弟的吗？”耶和华说：“你作了什么事呢？你弟弟的血有声音从地里向我呼叫。地开了口，从你手里接受了你弟弟的血，现在你要从这地受咒诅。

群众回答：“流他的血的责任，归在我们和我们子孙的身上吧。”
