when He said, Go to these people and say: You will listen and listen, yet never understand; and you will look and look, yet never perceive.

往告此民曰、爾將聽而不聰、視而不明、

其言云、往告此民曰、爾將聽而不聰、視而不明、

其言曰：「往告斯民曰、爾聽而不悟、視而不見；

“‘ Go to this people and say,“ You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.”

“‘ Go to your people. Say to them,“ You will hear but never understand. You will see but never know what you are seeing.”

“‘ Go to this people, and say,“ You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.”

‘ Go and say to this people: When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend.

when he said, Go to these people and say: You will always be listening, but never understanding; and you will always be looking, but never perceiving.

saying, Go thou unto this people, and say, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive:

Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

when he said,‘ Go to this people and say,“ You will keep on hearing, but will never understand, and you will keep on looking, but will never perceive.

saying,‘ Go to this people and say, in hearing, you will hear, but will in no way understand. In seeing, you will see, but will in no way perceive.

And He replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive.Dull the minds of these people; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.

“ Son of man, you are living among a rebellious house. They have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.

Who is blind but My servant, or deaf like My messenger I am sending? Who is blind like My dedicated one, or blind like the servant of the Lord?Though seeing many things, you do not obey. Though his ears are open, he does not listen.”

so that they may look and look, yet not perceive; they may listen and listen, yet not understand; otherwise, they might turn back— and be forgiven.”

Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You will listen and listen, yet never understand; and you will look and look, yet never perceive.For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn back— and I would cure them.

So He said,“ The secrets of the kingdom of God have been given for you to know, but to the rest it is in parables, so that Looking they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.

In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves because of Jesus.For God who said,“ Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

He said to them,“ How unwise and slow you are to believe in your hearts all that the prophets have spoken!

Aware of this, He said to them,“ Why are you discussing that you do not have any bread? Don’t you understand or comprehend? Is your heart hardened?Do you have eyes, and not see, and do you have ears, and not hear? And do you not remember?

as it is written: God gave them a spirit of insensitivity, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear, to this day.And David says: Let their feasting become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a retribution to them.Let their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent continually.

You are not being sent to many peoples of unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. No doubt, if I sent you to them, they would listen to you.But the house of Israel will not want to listen to you because they do not want to listen to Me. For the whole house of Israel is hardheaded and hardhearted.

therefore I will again confound these people with wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise men will vanish, and the understanding of the perceptive will be hidden.

But this was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet, who said: Lord, who has believed our message? And who has the arm of the Lord been revealed to?This is why they were unable to believe, because Isaiah also said:He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they would not see with their eyes or understand with their hearts, and be converted, and I would heal them.

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people. They have eyes, but they don’t see. They have ears, but they don’t hear.

“ But My people did not listen to Me; Israel did not obey Me.So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own plans.

For the Lord has poured out on you an overwhelming urge to sleep; He has shut your eyes— the prophets, and covered your heads— the seers.

So I will choose their punishment, and I will bring on them what they dread because I called and no one answered; I spoke and they didn’t hear; they did what was evil in My sight and chose what I didn’t delight in.
