但這一點、我倒向大人承認，就是：我正是循着他們之所謂異端的這道路、這樣事奉祖宗的上帝，相信律法中和神言人們書上所記載的一切。

在外國人中間持守你們的好為人，使他們在毁謗你們為作惡的情形下、因親眼看見了你們的好行為、便在鑒察的日子歸榮耀於上帝。

你們若在基督名內受辱罵，是有福的；因為「榮耀」之靈、就是上帝之靈、住在你們身上。你們中間別有人因做兇手或盜賊、或為非作惡、或騷擾社會、而受苦了。但若因做基督徒而受苦，就別慚愧了，倒要因有這名而榮耀上帝呢。

西面就給他們祝福，對孩子的母親馬利亞說：『看吧，這孩子被設立、必使以色列中許多人跌倒、許多人復起，也必做辯論的對象，將許多人心裏的意念揭露出來；

持守着純善的良知，使你們在甚麼事上被毁謗，就在甚麼事上可以叫誣衊你們在基督裏的好品行的人自覺慚愧。

把他們帶交官長，說：『這些人是猶太人，騷擾我們的城，傳布我們羅馬人所不可接受不可行的規矩。』

找不着他們，就把耶孫和幾個弟兄拖到眾城官那裏，呼喊着說：『這些攪亂天下的也到這裏來了！耶孫招待他們。這些人都作違背該撒詔諭的事，說另有個人耶穌是王。』

我們查出這個人簡直是瘟疫，在普天下眾猶太人中攪動亂事，又是拿撒勒派的一個頭目。連聖殿他也試圖要褻瀆；我們就把他抓住了；

為要讓被試驗為可取的人在你們中間顯明出來，你們中間總不能沒有派別的。

但是法利賽派中已經相信的、有幾個人起來說、必須給外國人行割禮，並囑咐他們遵守摩西的律法。

大祭司和所有同着他的人、就是撒都該派的人、都起來，滿心妒忌，

從起頭他們早就認識了我；他們知道（如果他們肯作見證的話）、我做法利賽人、是怎樣按着我們熱心宗教最嚴緊的派別而生活的。
