但有一件事，我向你承認，就是他們所稱為異端的道，我正按着那道事奉我祖宗的神，又信合乎律法的和先知書上一切所記載的，

你們在外邦人中，應當品行端正，叫那些毀謗你們是作惡的，因看見你們的好行為，便在鑒察的日子歸榮耀給神。

你們若為基督的名受辱罵，便是有福的；因為神榮耀的靈常住在你們身上。你們中間卻不可有人因為殺人、偷竊、作惡、好管閒事而受苦。若為作基督徒受苦，卻不要羞恥，倒要因這名歸榮耀給神。

西面給他們祝福，又對孩子的母親馬利亞說：「這孩子被立，是要叫以色列中許多人跌倒，許多人興起；又要作毀謗的話柄，叫許多人心裏的意念顯露出來；你自己的心也要被刀刺透。」

存着無虧的良心，叫你們在何事上被毀謗，就在何事上可以叫那誣賴你們在基督裏有好品行的人自覺羞愧。

又帶到官長面前說：「這些人原是猶太人，竟騷擾我們的城，傳我們羅馬人所不可受不可行的規矩。」

找不着他們，就把耶孫和幾個弟兄拉到地方官那裏，喊叫說：「那攪亂天下的也到這裏來了，耶孫收留他們。這些人都違背凱撒的命令，說另有一個王耶穌。」

我們看這個人，如同瘟疫一般，是鼓動普天下眾猶太人生亂的，又是拿撒勒教黨裏的一個頭目，連聖殿他也想要污穢；我們把他捉住了。

在你們中間不免有分門結黨的事，好叫那些有經驗的人顯明出來。

惟有幾個信徒，是法利賽教門的人，起來說：「必須給外邦人行割禮，吩咐他們遵守摩西的律法。」

大祭司和他的一切同人，就是撒都該教門的人，都起來，滿心忌恨，

他們若肯作見證就曉得，我從起初是按着我們教中最嚴緊的教門作了法利賽人。
