但有一件事，我向你承认，就是他们所称为异端的道，我正按着那道侍奉我祖宗的神，又信合乎律法的和先知书上一切所记载的，

你们在外邦人中，应当品行端正，叫那些毁谤你们是作恶的，因看见你们的好行为，便在鉴察的日子归荣耀给神。

你们若为基督的名受辱骂，便是有福的；因为神荣耀的灵常住在你们身上。你们中间却不可有人因为杀人、偷窃、作恶、好管闲事而受苦。若为作基督徒受苦，却不要羞耻，倒要因这名归荣耀给神。

西面给他们祝福，又对孩子的母亲马利亚说：“这孩子被立，是要叫以色列中许多人跌倒，许多人兴起；又要作毁谤的话柄，叫许多人心里的意念显露出来；你自己的心也要被刀刺透。”

存着无亏的良心，叫你们在何事上被毁谤，就在何事上可以叫那诬赖你们在基督里有好品行的人自觉羞愧。

又带到官长面前说：“这些人原是犹太人，竟骚扰我们的城，传我们罗马人所不可受不可行的规矩。”

找不着他们，就把耶孙和几个弟兄拉到地方官那里，喊叫说：“那搅乱天下的也到这里来了，耶孙收留他们。这些人都违背凯撒的命令，说另有一个王耶稣。”

我们看这个人，如同瘟疫一般，是鼓动普天下众犹太人生乱的，又是拿撒勒教党里的一个头目，连圣殿他也想要污秽；我们把他捉住了。

在你们中间不免有分门结党的事，好叫那些有经验的人显明出来。

惟有几个信徒是法利赛教门的人，起来说：“必须给外邦人行割礼，吩咐他们遵守摩西的律法。”

大祭司和他的一切同人，就是撒都该教门的人，都起来，满心忌恨，

他们若肯作见证就晓得，我从起初是按着我们教中最严紧的教门作了法利赛人。
