You must stand before Caesar. Behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’

For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.

All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

Then the nations that are left around you will know that I, Yahweh, have built the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate. But the centurion gave more heed to the master and to the owner of the ship than to those things which were spoken by Paul.

The soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, so that none of them would swim out and escape.But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, stopped them from their purpose, and commanded that those who could swim should throw themselves overboard first to go toward the land;
