主所愛的弟兄們哪，我們本該常為你們感謝神；因為他從起初揀選了你們，叫你們因信真道，又被聖靈感動，成為聖潔，能以得救。神藉我們所傳的福音召你們到這地步，好得着我們主耶穌基督的榮光。

眾人多日沒有吃甚麼，保羅就出來站在他們中間，說：「眾位，你們本該聽我的話，不離開克里特，免得遭這樣的傷損破壞。現在我還勸你們放心，你們的性命一個也不失喪，惟獨失喪這船。因我所屬所事奉的神，他的使者昨夜站在我旁邊，說：『保羅，不要害怕，你必定站在凱撒面前，並且與你同船的人，神都賜給你了。』

馬利亞對天使說：「我沒有出嫁，怎麼有這事呢？」天使回答說：「聖靈要臨到你身上，至高者的能力要蔭庇你，因此所要生的聖者必稱為神的兒子。

因他要為你吩咐他的使者，在你行的一切道路上保護你。他們要用手托着你，免得你的腳碰在石頭上。

凡父所賜給我的人必到我這裏來；到我這裏來的，我總不丟棄他。

那時，在你們四圍其餘的外邦人必知道我－耶和華修造那毀壞之處，培植那荒廢之地。我－耶和華說過，也必成就。「主耶和華如此說：我要加增以色列家的人數，多如羊羣。他們必為這事向我求問，我要給他們成就。

但百夫長信從掌船的和船主，不信從保羅所說的。

兵丁的意思要把囚犯殺了，恐怕有洑水脫逃的。但百夫長要救保羅，不准他們任意而行，就吩咐會洑水的，跳下水去先上岸；

耶和華說：我知道我向你們所懷的意念是賜平安的意念，不是降災禍的意念，要叫你們末後有指望。你們要呼求我，禱告我，我就應允你們。你們尋求我，若專心尋求我，就必尋見。

魔鬼又領他到耶路撒冷去，叫他站在殿頂上，對他說：「你若是神的兒子，可以從這裏跳下去；因為經上記着說：主要為你吩咐他的使者保護你；他們要用手托着你，免得你的腳碰在石頭上。」耶穌對他說：「經上說：『不可試探主－你的神。』」
