主所爱的弟兄们，我们应该常常为你们感谢神，因为他从起初就拣选了你们，藉着圣灵成圣的工作，和你们对真道的信心，使你们可以得救。因此，神藉着我们所传的福音呼召你们，使你们得着我们主耶稣基督的荣耀。

大家很久没有吃饭了，保罗就站在他们中间，说：“各位，你们本来应该听我的话不离开克里特，就不会遭受这场损失和破坏了。现在我劝你们放心。除了这艘船以外，你们没有一个人会丧命的。因为我所归属所事奉的神，他的使者昨天夜里站在我的旁边，说：‘保罗，不要怕。你必定可以站在凯撒面前；神已经把那些和你同船的人赐给你了。’

马利亚对天使说：“我还没有出嫁（“我还没有出嫁”原文作“我不认识男人”），怎能有这事呢？”天使回答：“圣灵要临到你，至高者的能力要覆庇你，因此那将要出生的圣者，必称为神的儿子。

因为他为了你，会吩咐自己的使者，在你所行的一切路上保护你。他们必用手托住你，免得你的脚碰到石头。

凡是父赐给我的人，必到我这里来；到我这里来的，我决不丢弃他，

那时，在你们四围所余剩的列国，就必知道我是耶和华，是我重建了那些毁坏的地方，栽植了那些荒凉之地。我耶和华说了，就必实行。“‘主耶和华这样说：我还要让以色列家求我为他们增加人数，多如羊群。

但百夫长宁愿相信船长和船主的话，却不相信保罗所说的。

士兵想把囚犯都杀掉，免得有人游泳逃脱。但百夫长想要救保罗，就阻止他们这样行。他吩咐会游泳的跳下水去，先到岸上，

因我自己知道我为你们所定的计划，是使你们得平安，而不是遭受灾祸的计划；要赐给你们美好的前程和盼望。’这是耶和华的宣告。‘你们要呼求我，要来向我祷告，我就必应允你们。你们要寻找我，只要一心寻求，就必寻见。

魔鬼又引他到耶路撒冷，叫他站在殿的最高处，对他说：“你若是神的儿子，就从这里跳下去吧！因为经上记着：‘他为了你，会吩咐自己的使者保护你。’又记着：‘用手托住你，免得你的脚碰到石头。’”耶稣回答：“经上说：‘不可试探主你的神。’”
