海裏忽然起了猛烈的風暴，以致船幾乎被波浪淹沒，耶穌卻睡着了。門徒去叫醒他，說：「主啊，救命啊，我們快沒命啦！」

要記得那時候，你們與基督無關，與以色列選民團體隔絕，在所應許的約上是局外人，而且在世上沒有指望，沒有神。

「那些日子的災難一過去，太陽要變黑，月亮也不放光，眾星要從天上墜落，天上的萬象都要震動。

海浪越來越洶湧，他們就問他說：「我們當向你做甚麼，才能使海浪平靜呢？」他對他們說：「你們把我抬起來，拋進海裏，海就會平靜了；我知道你們遭遇這大風浪是因我的緣故。」然而那些人竭力划槳，想要把船靠回陸地，卻是不能；因風浪越來越大，撲向他們。於是他們求告耶和華說：「耶和華啊，求求你不要因這人的性命使我們滅亡，不要使流無辜人血的罪歸給我們；因為你－耶和華隨自己的旨意行事。」

被棍打了三次，被石頭打了一次，遭海難三次，一晝一夜在深海裏掙扎。

他對我說：「人子啊，這些骸骨就是以色列全家。他們說：『看哪，我們的骨頭枯乾了，我們的指望失去了，我們滅絕淨盡了！』

因路途遙遠，你就疲倦，卻不說，這是枉然，以為能找到復興之力，所以不覺疲憊。

弟兄們，至於已睡了的人，我們不願意你們不知道，恐怕你們憂傷，像那些沒有指望的人一樣。

你不要弄到赤足而行，喉嚨乾渴。你卻說：『沒有用的，我喜愛陌生人，我必隨從他們。』」

耶和華對摩西說：「你向天伸出你的手，使黑暗籠罩埃及地；這黑暗甚至可以摸得到。」摩西向天伸出他的手，濃密的黑暗就籠罩了埃及全地三天之久。三天內，人人彼此看不見，誰也不敢起身離開原地；但所有以色列人住的地方卻有光。

耶和華在海上颳起大風，海就狂風大作，船幾乎破裂。

他一出令，狂風捲起，波浪翻騰。他們上到天空，下到海底，他們的心因患難而消沉。他們搖搖晃晃，東倒西歪，好像醉酒的人，他們的智慧無法可施。

他差遣黑暗，就有黑暗；他們沒有違背他的話。
