When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.

这时候，忽然湖上起了大风暴，以致波浪盖过了船，耶稣却睡着了。门徒们上前来叫醒他，说：“主啊，救救我们，我们没命了！”

那时候，你们与基督无关；被排除在以色列国民之外；在那些所应许的诸约上是外人；在这世界上没有盼望、没有神。

“那些日子的患难一过去，‘太阳就要变黑，月亮也不发光，星辰要从天上坠落，诸天的各势力也将被震动。’

他们又对他说：“我们该对你怎么做，才能使海为我们平静下来呢？”因为海浪越来越汹涌了。约拿就对他们说：“你们把我抬起来，抛进海中，海就会为你们平静下来，因为我知道这场临到你们的大风暴是因我的缘故。”然而，那些人还是拼命划桨要回到陆地，却是不能，因为海浪越来越汹涌，冲向他们。他们就向耶和华呼求，说：“哦，耶和华啊，求你不要因这人性命的缘故使我们灭亡，不要把流无辜人血的罪归在我们身上！因为你，耶和华啊，是你照着你的意愿行了这事。”

被棍子打过三次，被石头砸过一次，遭遇海难三次，在深海里度过了一昼一夜；

你因路途遥远而困乏，却不说‘没有希望！’你找到了新生的力量，因此不疲软。

弟兄们，关于睡了的人，我们不愿意你们不明白，免得你们忧伤，就像其他那些没有盼望的人一样。

然而，耶和华使海上刮起大风，海上就起了大风暴，致使船几乎要破裂。

他一吩咐，暴风就兴起，扬起海洋的波涛。他们上到天空，又下到深渊，在危急中魂飞魄散。他们摇摇晃晃，东倒西歪，好像醉酒的人，他们一切的智慧都毫无用处。

他发出黑暗，使那地黑暗；谁也没有违背他的话。
