他們便退到一邊，彼此談論說：『這個人並沒有作甚麼該死或該捆鎖的事啊。』

當離開的時候，彼此談論說：「這個人沒有做任何該死或該被捆鎖的事。」

退而相語曰、斯人所為、無當死當繫之事、

退而共議、僉曰：『是人實無應死或被囚之罪。』

After they left the room, they began saying to one another,“ This man is not doing anything that deserves death or imprisonment.”

They left the room and began to talk with one another.“ Why should this man die or be put in prison?” they said.“ He has done nothing worthy of that!”

And when they had withdrawn, they said to one another,“ This man is doing nothing to deserve death or imprisonment.”

As they went out, they talked it over and agreed,“ This man hasn’t done anything to deserve death or imprisonment.”

and when they had left they talked with each other and said,“ This man is not doing anything to deserve death or imprisonment.”

and when they had gone out, they began talking to one another, saying,“ This man is not doing anything deserving death or imprisonment.”

and when they had gone aside, they talked among themselves, saying,“ This man is doing nothing deserving of death or chains.”

and when they had withdrawn, they spake one to another, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

and when they had left they talked with each other and said,“ This man is doing nothing that deserves death or chains.”

And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

and as they were leaving they said to one another,“ This man is not doing anything deserving death or imprisonment.”

When they had withdrawn, they spoke to one another, saying,“ This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.”

我查知他被告發是因他們律法上的爭論，並沒有甚麼該死或該監禁的罪名。

於是大大地爭吵起來；有幾個法利賽派的文士站起來爭辯說：「我們看不出這人有甚麼錯處；說不定有鬼魂或者天使對他說過話呢！」

他們審問了我，有意要釋放我，因為在我身上並沒有該死的罪狀。

你們若為基督的名受辱罵是有福的，因為榮耀的靈，就是上帝的靈，在你們身上。你們中間，不可有人因為殺人、偷竊、作惡、好管閒事而受苦。若有人因是基督徒而受苦，不要引以為恥，倒要因這名而歸榮耀給上帝。

對他們說：「你們解這人到我這裏，說他是煽惑百姓的。看哪，我也曾在你們面前審問他，並沒有查出這人犯過你們控告他的任何罪；就是希律也是如此，所以把他送回來。可見他沒有做甚麼該死的事。

不過，要以溫柔、敬畏的心回答。要存無虧的良心，使你們在何事上被毀謗，就在何事上使那些凌辱你們在基督裏有好品行的人自覺羞愧。

大衛看見那在百姓中施行毀滅的天使，就向耶和華說：「看哪，我犯了罪，行了惡，但這羣羊做了甚麼呢？願你的手攻擊我和我的父家。」

但我查明他並沒有犯甚麼該死的罪，並且他自己也已向皇帝上訴了，所以我決定把他解去。

彼拉多對祭司長們和眾人說：「我查不出這人有甚麼罪來。」
