But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and[ then] to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.Honour thy father and mother;( which is the first commandment with promise;)That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.Servants, be obedient to them that are[ your] masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether[ he be] bond or free.And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.And they gave him audience unto this word, and[ then] lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a[ fellow] from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;And[ that] they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn[ yourselves] from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn[ yourselves], and live ye.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.For if these things be in you, and abound, they make[ you that ye shall] neither[ be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.But ye have not so learned Christ;If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:Neither give place to the devil.Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with[ his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.Be not ye therefore partakers with them.For ye were sometimes darkness, but now[ are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:( For the fruit of the Spirit[ is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove[ them].For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord[ is].And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so[ let] the wives[ be] to their own husbands in every thing.Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

But ye[ are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:Which in time past[ were] not a people, but[ are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.Dearly beloved, I beseech[ you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by[ your] good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.But all that heard[ him] were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.Then the disciples took him by night, and let[ him] down by the wall in a basket.And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.But Barnabas took him, and brought[ him] to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.The aged women likewise, that[ they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,[ To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine[ shewing] uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.[ Exhort] servants to be obedient unto their own masters,[ and] to please[ them] well in all[ things]; not answering again;Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I[ go], sir: and went not.Whether of them twain did the will of[ his] father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen[ it], repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive[ us] graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

That he no longer should live the rest of[ his] time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.For the time past of[ our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with[ them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of[ you]:Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore[ him] fourfold.And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

Delivering thee from the people, and[ from] the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon[ my] thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.[ Is] Ephraim my dear son?[ is he] a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.For so hath the Lord commanded us,[ saying], I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to[ our] father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse[ any] falsely; and be content with your wages.

And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
