We are men also, with the same nature as you, and we are proclaiming good news to you, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and everything in them.In past generations He allowed all the nations to go their own way,although He did not leave Himself without a witness, since He did what is good by giving you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons and satisfying your hearts with food and happiness.”Even though they said these things, they barely stopped the crowds from sacrificing to them.Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and when they had won over the crowds and stoned Paul, they dragged him out of the city, thinking he was dead.After the disciples surrounded him, he got up and went into the town. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.After they had evangelized that town and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, to Iconium, and to Antioch,

and saying,“ Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near!”

But you must return to your God. Maintain love and justice, and always put your hope in God.

Children, obey your parents as you would the Lord, because this is right.Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,so that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life in the land.Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.Slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ.Don’t work only while being watched, in order to please men, but as slaves of Christ, do God’s will from your heart.Serve with a good attitude, as to the Lord and not to men,knowing that whatever good each one does, slave or free, he will receive this back from the Lord.And masters, treat your slaves the same way, without threatening them, because you know that both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with Him.

“ After I came back to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple complex, I went into a visionary stateand saw Him telling me,‘ Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about Me!’“ But I said,‘ Lord, they know that in synagogue after synagogue I had those who believed in You imprisoned and beaten.And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was being shed, I was standing by and approving, and I guarded the clothes of those who killed him.’“ Then He said to me,‘ Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”They listened to him up to this word. Then they raised their voices, shouting,“ Wipe this person off the earth— it’s a disgrace for him to live!”

instructing his opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance leading them to the knowledge of the truth.Then they may come to their senses and escape the Devil’s trap, having been captured by him to do his will.

So they went out and preached that people should repent.

“ Therefore, house of Israel, I will judge each one of you according to his ways.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.“ Repent and turn from all your transgressions, so they will not be a stumbling block that causes your punishment.Throw off all the transgressions you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, house of Israel?For I take no pleasure in anyone’s death.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.“ So repent and live!

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge,knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness,godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they will keep you from being useless or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, I say this and testify in the Lord: You should no longer walk as the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their thoughts.They are darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them and because of the hardness of their hearts.They became callous and gave themselves over to promiscuity for the practice of every kind of impurity with a desire for more and more.But that is not how you learned about the Messiah,assuming you heard about Him and were taught by Him, because the truth is in Jesus.You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires;you are being renewed in the spirit of your minds;you put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.Since you put away lying, Speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another.Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger,and don’t give the Devil an opportunity.The thief must no longer steal. Instead, he must do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need.No foul language is to come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by Him for the day of redemption.All bitterness, anger and wrath, shouting and slander must be removed from you, along with all malice.And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children.And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.But sexual immorality and any impurity or greed should not even be heard of among you, as is proper for saints.Coarse and foolish talking or crude joking are not suitable, but rather giving thanks.For know and recognize this: Every sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, does not have an inheritance in the kingdom of the Messiah and of God.Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient because of these things.Therefore, do not become their partners.For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light—for the fruit of the light results in all goodness, righteousness, and truth—discerning what is pleasing to the Lord.Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but instead expose them.For it is shameful even to mention what is done by them in secret.Everything exposed by the light is made clear,for what makes everything clear is light. Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk— not as unwise people but as wise—making the most of the time, because the days are evil.So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless actions, but be filled by the Spirit:speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music from your heart to the Lord,giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord,for the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of the body.Now as the church submits to Christ, so wives are to submit to their husbands in everything.Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her

But the Lord said to him,“ Go! For this man is My chosen instrument to take My name to Gentiles, kings, and the Israelites.

but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.

From then on Jesus began to preach,“ Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near!”

and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, yet they did not repent of their actions.

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as well!”

Therefore, in my judgment, we should not cause difficulties for those among the Gentiles who turn to God,

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you.Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that in a case where they speak against you as those who do what is evil, they will, by observing your good works, glorify God on the day of visitation.

I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.

I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”

I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to repent of her sexual immorality.

And after taking some food, he regained his strength. Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for some days.Immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues:“ He is the Son of God.”But all who heard him were astounded and said,“ Isn’t this the man who, in Jerusalem, was destroying those who called on this name and then came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests?”But Saul grew more capable and kept confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that this One is the Messiah.After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him,but their plot became known to Saul. So they were watching the gates day and night intending to kill him,but his disciples took him by night and lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the wall.When he arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to associate with the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, since they did not believe he was a disciple.Barnabas, however, took him and brought him to the apostles and explained to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road and that He had talked to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus.Saul was coming and going with them in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.He conversed and debated with the Hellenistic Jews, but they attempted to kill him.

Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Older men are to be level headed, worthy of respect, sensible, and sound in faith, love, and endurance.In the same way, older women are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not addicted to much wine. They are to teach what is good,so they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children,to be self-controlled, pure, homemakers, kind, and submissive to their husbands, so that God’s message will not be slandered.In the same way, encourage the young men to be self-controlledin everything. Make yourself an example of good works with integrity and dignity in your teaching.Your message is to be sound beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.Slaves are to be submissive to their masters in everything, and to be well-pleasing, not talking backor stealing, but demonstrating utter faithfulness, so that they may adorn the teaching of God our Savior in everything.For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people,instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age,while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

do not brag that you are better than those branches. But if you do brag— you do not sustain the root, but the root sustains you.Then you will say,“ Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”True enough; they were broken off by unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.

Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; keep it, and repent. But if you are not alert, I will come like a thief, and you have no idea at what hour I will come against you.

Then the man went to the other and said the same thing.“‘ I will, sir,’ he answered. But he didn’t go.“ Which of the two did his father’s will?”“ The first,” they said. Jesus said to them,“ I assure you: Tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you!For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him. Tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him, but you, when you saw it, didn’t even change your minds then and believe him.

Take words of repentance with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him:“ Forgive all our sin and accept what is good, so that we may repay You with praise from our lips.

in order to live the remaining time in the flesh, no longer for human desires, but for God’s will.For there has already been enough time spent in doing what the pagans choose to do: carrying on in unrestrained behavior, evil desires, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and lawless idolatry.So they are surprised that you don’t plunge with them into the same flood of wild living— and they slander you.They will give an account to the One who stands ready to judge the living and the dead.

I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who don’t need repentance.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance.But as the One who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct;for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.

But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord,“ Look, I’ll give half of my possessions to the poor, Lord! And if I have extorted anything from anyone, I’ll pay back four times as much!”“ Today salvation has come to this house,” Jesus told him,“ because he too is a son of Abraham.

Remember then how far you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place— unless you repent.

He also said to them,“ This is what is written: The Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead the third day,and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as well!

For godly grief produces a repentance not to be regretted and leading to salvation, but worldly grief produces death.

He will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God.

I will rescue you from the people and from the Gentiles. I now send you to them

When they heard this they became silent. Then they glorified God, saying,“ So God has granted repentance resulting in life even to the Gentiles!”

Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the Lord.

Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, so He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will freely forgive.

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord. All the families of the nations will bow down before You,

After I returned, I repented; After I was instructed, I struck my thigh in grief. I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disgrace of my youth.”Isn’t Ephraim a precious son to Me, a delightful child? Whenever I speak against him, I certainly still think about him. Therefore, My inner being yearns for him; I will truly have compassion on him. This is the Lord’s declaration.

Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said:“ It was necessary that God’s message be spoken to you first. But since you reject it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles!For this is what the Lord has commanded us: I have made you a light for the Gentiles to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the message of the Lord, and all who had been appointed to eternal life believed.

Therefore produce fruit consistent with repentance. And don’t start saying to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones!Even now the ax is ready to strike the root of the trees! Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”“ What then should we do?” the crowds were asking him.He replied to them,“ The one who has two shirts must share with someone who has none, and the one who has food must do the same.”Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they asked him,“ Teacher, what should we do?”He told them,“ Don’t collect any more than what you have been authorized.”Some soldiers also questioned him:“ What should we do?” He said to them,“ Don’t take money from anyone by force or false accusation; be satisfied with your wages.”

and when he found him he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught large numbers. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.In those days some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine throughout the Roman world. This took place during the time of Claudius.So each of the disciples, according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea.They did this, sending it to the elders by means of Barnabas and Saul.
